Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Scheduled Hours: Regular office hours at Edmonton downtown office
Compensation: $45 /Hour

The Position
The Director of Community Engagement and Relationship Development, leads diversity and inclusion efforts, promotes our social services programs through community outreach and builds partnerships with Indigenous leaders and community organizations.

In Your Role You Will
• Recognize opportunities and build partnerships with Indigenous community leaders and community organizations
• Oversee and participate in community outreach efforts to promote our social services and youth programs
• Develop projects/programs specific to diversity and inclusion plans which align with client goals and organizational strategic plans
Lead diversity and inclusion efforts for project-specific programs
• Act as a liaison between the organization and Indigenous agencies/community
• Train and support the program team on structuring community participation, achieving program goals and tracking client outcomes
• Maintain composure and performance while under stress or pressure, utilizing various appropriate coping skills to manage personal stress.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
• Bachelor of Social Work, Human Services, Aboriginal studies, etc.; Master’s Degree preferred
• Experience working with Indigenous communities, Metis settlements and provincial ministries, such as Children’s Services
• Preference for candidate knowledgeable in Indigenous sacred teachings, healing practices and ancestorial culture and wisdom and traditional language of the Indigenous community including Metis, First Nations and Inuit.
• 5 years’ experience in community outreach, implementing diversity programs/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong cultural ties to the community.
• Trauma informed care
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract with personal car insurance (2 million in third party liability)
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
